The project was inspired by the past, present and the future. My silhouettes were based on the 80's Fashion in Poland, with sporty shell suits and exaggerated tailoring. The inspiration came from the Solidarity movement and its protests against the government to establish free elections. It was already quite personal to me, since my grandparents belonged to the movement. I also compared it to the protests, which have been going on in Poland recently. It was again very personal, as my parents were involved in them, which was a surprise to me, when I came back home for summer. I decided to go to one of the protests and saw the conflict and contrast between people: the division within society. This became the other part of my project, which was symbolised by the deconstruction of my garments. I also aimed to make my garments multi-functional, which was inspired by the shortage of goods in the 80's, where people had limited access to anything and especially western goods. Therefore I thought they had to be more creative in terms of what and how they wore clothes.
